Froot Loops

Ingredients:

  • Milk
  • Froot Loops

Preparation:

In a bowl of your choice, pour the cereal filling about three- fourths of the bowl. Pour the milk into the bowl and then plop the spoon in.

I would always take my bowl to the huge dining room table. I would sit in the chair that my brother refused to keep things on. "Get your crap out of my chair!" I would often yell at him. I would sometimes sit and stare into the bowl; not eating, but thinking. For some reason, the various colors of the loops would make me think of everything( past, present, and future). I would almost get into a trance. I would often get a headache from staring into the bowl and have to take some Tylenol. I would have to lay down and by the time I got up my cereal would get soggy. I would then have to pour another bowl.

After I would get done eating, I would watch cartoons like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Pokemon. These cartoons would not put me in a trance as much as the Froot Loops. I would watch these cartoons for several hours and then pour some more Froot Loops.

I would always go to bed with a stomach ache because if I drink a lot of milk, bad things happen. You do not want to know about these bad things(ha ha). I never slept well after eating the colorful loops so I would not be able to eat them the next day so I could get a good nights rest.

Today I still eat these monstrous loops af deliciousness. I still get the same effect today as back then. The only difference is that I watch Regular Show and Adventure Time instead of the other two( I actually still watch them every once in a while). I've been cursed by Tucan Sam, cursed to always eat his glorious loops of destruction.

                                                 thInK

The story that I chose to write about was "The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World," by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This was a very weird short story. The beginning of the story felt like I was reading  a horror book. Towards the middle, the tale made me think about how people like fantasize the truth away. The end of the story showed us that we should respect the dead.
The story in the beginning had a darker vibe. The author was talking about children finding a washed up corpse on the beach and then playing with it. What kind of sick and twisted children play with a decaying body covered in fish scales?!
I thought that it was silly how woman were fantasizing over a dead body. They were comparing what they wanted to see  the man as to their husbands. This reminds me of people now. We make up lies that deceive ourselves into thinking that the lie is a reality.
The story showed me how we should respect the dead. The people from the village and the neighboring villages brought flowers to the corpse before they threw him off the cliff. A large group of people watched the man whose identity they discored to be Estaban, the clumsy, modest giant man that they all knew and loved.
Overall, I really liked the story. The main reason I liked it was because of the children in the beginning. I know, it was pretty messed up. I geuss i just like weird stuff. So if you like weird stuff, you should definetly read this story.
